Dr Jonah Chieza is Head of Department of Anaesthetics at Geraldton Hospital.   

He earned a bachelors degree in pharmacology from University College London UK in 1982 before graduating in medicine from the University of Zimbabwe in 1987.   His practice experience spans over 33 years and he is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and Felow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists UK    Dr Chieza served as a military doctor before going on to teach clinical pharmacology at the University of Zimbabwe for five years.  

He gained extensive anaesthetic experience at Harare Central Hospitals, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Guys and St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital London.   He completed fellowships in obstetrics and ambulatory day surgery anaesthesia at Kings College.   Dr Chieza held consultant posts at both Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals in London before relocating to Australia.
