Management team

St John of God Bendigo Hospital provides an extensive range of private health care services to the Bendigo community and its surrounding areas.

Michael Hogan - Chief Executive Officer

Michael has oversight of the day-to-day hospital operations at St John of God Bendigo Hospital as the Chief Executive Officer. He has significant experience in health care management having previously worked as Chief Executive Officer of the hospital between 2003 and 2012.

Michael has also been Chief Executive Officer of the former St John of God Pathology, where he led its integration with Clinical Labs, and more recently was the Chief Executive Officer of St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals for nearly five years.

Michael is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Andriy Kurtsev - Director of Nursing and Patient Experience

Andriy joined St John of God Bendigo Hospital as Director of Nursing in April 2020.

Andriy was in his substantive role of Deputy Director of Nursing Medical/Acute Services at St John of God Murdoch Hospital for three years, having previously worked at St John of God Geelong Hospital in various nursing leadership roles for six years.

In addition to his nursing qualifications, Andriy holds Master’s Degree in Business Economics and Graduate Certificate in Catholic Leadership. Andriy is an Associate Fellow of Australasian College of Health Service Management.

John Brohm - Director of Mission Integration

John has only very recently joined St John of God Bendigo Hospital. John’s background spans over 30 years in Catholic Education, mostly in the Sandhurst Diocese.

John has held a number of key leadership roles including Principal and Executive Officer roles. John has a strong interest and experience in Catholic identity and will be an important resource in supporting the integration of our Mission across all aspects of our health care ministry.

Mark Medina - Director of Finance

Mark is a seasoned finance executive who has recently joined St John of God Bendigo Hospital.

Prior to joining St John of God Health Care, Mark held a number of key leadership roles in different multinational companies gaining an extensive experience across all aspects of finance function.

A motivating leader skilled in creating high performance teams. Highly regarded for delivering strong financial and business performance management results based on extensive leadership, business partnering skills and promoting continuous process improvements and good governance.

Mark completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy and graduated Magna Cum Laude prior to becoming a Certified Public Accountant and one of Philippine CPA board examination topnotchers.
